About TAS

The journal of The Autobiography Society, a/b: Auto/Biography Studies, is a member of the Routledge Literature Portfolio of journals. Membership in the society includes a print and digital subscription to the journal, digital access to our full, thirty-year archive, and full digital access to selected other Routledge journals.

The Autobiography Society (TAS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formed to expand participation in the creation, contextualization, and analysis of an increasingly diverse body of auto|biographical narratives and theories of life writing. Membership in and donations to TAS support scholarly projects that contribute to this mission.

TAS was the major supporter of the 2013 conference, Auto|Biography Across the Americas, at which the International Auto|Biography Association—Chapter of the Americas was founded. The society also awards The Hogan Prize for an outstanding essay submitted to a special issue of a/b: Auto/Biography Studies, presents the Timothy Dow Adams Awards, and sponsors the annual meeting of the MLA Forum on Life Writing.
